City of Chadron — 5/8/2020 —Chadron Public Library Announces Beginning of Curb Side Services.
Chadron Public Library is happy to announce that with the easing of restrictions placed in response to the COVID-19 pandemic, the library will begin offering curbside delivery of materials. All other library services will resume at a later date, according to the evolution of the situation.
The curb side service will begin Monday, May 11 at 1 p.m. and will continue until 2 p.m. that day. Service will resume the next day, Tuesday, May 12 between the hours of 10 a.m. and 11 a.m. and the hours of 1 p.m. and 2 p.m. and will continue with the same hours in the following days.
Due to the extra work involved in quarantining and cleaning returned items, check-out is temporarily limited to 3 items per household.
Patrons will contact library at 308-432-0531 to request desired items. During the phone call, they will receive detailed instructions about the pick-up procedures (see also library webpage: www.chadronpubliclibrary.com for details). Staff is available to answer all questions and calls every day from Monday to Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
The check-in of previously loaned items will begin the same day, May 11, and will follow the same time schedule.
All items currently checked out have an expiration date of June 6, therefore, there is no need to crowd the library side-walk or to overwhelm the system rushing for a return. The library is willing to work with every patron to facilitate items’ check-in.
At this time, we remind everyone that the virus COVID-19 is still an active threat to our communities and all precautions and restrictions must be observed to preserve our and our fellow citizens.
We continue to encourage everyone to explore the Chadron Public Library online offerings. They include e-books and audiobooks for all ages, magazines, and more (for information call, Monday to Friday, 308-432-0531) and to follow our programs on Facebook, where we have posted episodes of Story-time and more.
The library reserves the right to discontinue the curb side service if the pandemic takes a turn for the worse in our community, or if safety rules are not respected.
