The pre-festival is dedicated to bring awareness to human trafficking.

 Wednesday, October 12   6:00 pm.   Fortress of Sin. Film. This is an independent 

                                                          film, made and produced in the Panhandle of  Nebraska

                                                          Meet the Movie Director.

.                                                         7:30 pm. Bring her Home. Documentary about human 

                                                          trafficking and the disappearance of Native 

                                                          American women.

 Festival Begins

Thursday, October 13     5:30 pm. Reception.

 

                                        6:00 pm. President of CPL Foundation Ann Sundberg. Remarks. 

 

                                        6:15 pm. The Little Known Story of Caroline Weldon and 

                                                            Sitting Bull Portrait.  Marguerite 

                                                            Vey-Miller and Rossella Tesch.

                                                        

                                        6:30 pm. Woman Walks Ahead. Film. The story of 

                                                       Caroline Weldon advocacy on behalf of Native

                                                       American People and Sitting Bull.

 Friday, October 14          5:30 pm. Reception.

                                         6:00 pm. Zitkala Sa. Documentary. Biography of the 

                                                          activist, feminist, writer and musician known as 

                                                          Gertrude Simmons Bonnin.

 

                                        6:30 pm. Historian Nancy Gillis presents: Voices of   

                                                        Native American Women: Zitkala Sa.

 

                                        7:30 pm. Dan Holtz Musician. Presents: Heroism on the

                                                        Plains: Story Songs of Courage and   

                                                        Determination from Improbable People and  

                                                       Places.

 Saturday, October 15  10:30 am.   Cartoons for and Crafts for Children and Families.

                                                    11:30 am.  Indian Tacos.    

                                                      1:30 pm   Cartoons for Children.

                                                      2:30 pm. Michael Murphy. Native American Flute Musical Performance.

                                                      Mr. Murphy will play is original songs and later discuss Native 

                                                     American Flute Music and how to play the flute.

                                                      He will lead a session on flute making for children.
