City of Chadron Sidewalk Improvement Plan 2026 Grant Application
This program is available for all owner-occupied residential properties located in the city of Chadron. A project funded by this program must be for the repair, replacement, or installation of a residential sidewalk in order to be eligible. New home construction. where sidewalks are required by Municipal Code are not eligible. Driveway approaches and aprons are not eligible. In order for a sidewalk repair or installation to be eligible for this program. all necessary permits must be obtained and the work must be completed in accordance with all City, State. and Federal codes and regulations. including the Americans with Disability Act (ADA). Only projects started on or after the date of adoption of this Plan by the Chadron City Council are eligible for participation.Applications will be accepted from February 18, 2026, through May 22, 2026. Library Closure
ATTENTION!
The Chadron Public Library will be closed
from Monday, March 16
to APPROXIMATELY April 20.
Staff and volunteers will completely empty the building in preparation of renovations.
The renovations will include but not limited to: electric, plumbing, heating and cooling systems.
The renovation is projected to last over 7 months.
During this period, the library will operate from a temporary facility located at:
201 West 2nd St.
(formerly known as Pink Nail Salon).
Due to space and other considerations, some of the library services will not be available to the public.
We apologize for all inconveniences.

Chadron Public Library will relocate to a temporary site to facilitate the renovation of the interior of its premises.
The address of the temporary location is 201 West 2nd Street (former location of Pink Nail Salon).
The move to the temporary site will occur between March 16 and approximately April 10. During this period, the library will be closed to the public to facilitate the work of staff and volunteers.
While we understand that this event will be a great inconvenience for the library patrons, we hope to mitigate this with the reopening in the temporary location.
Moreover, the renovation will permit to bring up to date the Carnegie Building and to offer better and more efficient services.
Updates will be posted on the local media, the Library Web Page and the Library Facebook account).
