City Code requires all residential, commercial, and industrial zoned property to have a permit before erecting a new fence or replacing an existing fence with different material or increasing its height. Other districts do not require a fence permit.

Yes. When installing a new sidewalk or replacing an old sidewalk a right of way permit is required.

Permits are required for decks that are 30 inches above the ground or any deck that has a roof.

A permit is not required to pour concrete on private property. A building permit would be required to erect a roof over the patio.

Plumbers and Electricians are required to be licensed to do business in Chadron. A $35 occupation tax is required. Please inquire about bonding requirements and reciprocating a license from another jurisdiction. Licenses are issued on a calendar year basis, and renewable each April.
