1. What utilities does the City provide and bill for?

Water, sewer, and trash are provided. Trash hauling is contracted out, but is billed through our City Office.

2. What does it cost to get utilities in my name?

Residential deposits are $115.00 

Commercial/Business deposits are 150% of highest bill for the last year for like use. 

The deposit needs to be paid before service can be placed in your name.

3. What is the reconnect fee if I am shut off for non-payment?

There is a $35 service fee to reconnect during the hours of 7:00 a.m. to 3:45 p.m. and it’s $100 service fee to reconnect after hours.

4. When is my utility bill due?

Bills are sent out on the 25th day of the month. We do have the option of emailing your bill also. Please contact us if you are interested in going paperless. Payment is due on the 15th of the following month. On the 16th a $15.00 late charge is assessed. Disconnect notices are sent out around the 1st of the month stating the past due amount and when disconnect day is.

5. Can I pay my utility bill online or over the phone?

We are now able to take payments over the phone or online  

To pay Phone:

Customers need to call 1-866-233-0912.  You will need your account number and address. 

There will be $1.25 fee to pay by phone.

You can also call to check their balance and there is no fee for that function.

To pay Online: 

Customers can go to the Online Bill Pay Icon or click the following link. You will need to know your account number and your last amount paid to set this up online.  

There is $1.25 fee to pay online.

You can also check your balance and past consumption at no fee.

6. Can I have my bill automatically deducted from my checking account or with a credit card?

An automatic utility bill pay option is available. Payments are processed from the designated checking, savings, or credit card account on the 10th of each month. Forms for this are available at City Hall or on our website at Utility Starting Service Forms

7. What is a Curb Stop?

The Curb Stop is a water service shutoff valve located in a water service pipe near the curb and between the water main and the building. The property owner is responsible for keeping the Curb Stop in good working condition. City Ordinance § 17-203

8. How often is our water sampled?

The City water is tested weekly as required by the Nebraska Department of Health & Human Services.
